The Children's Learning Center was established in 1972 to provide quality care and
instruction to children in Buena Park, Cypress, La Palma, Anaheim, and Stanton. Over
the past 36 years, we have proudly served thousands of children and their families.
Our current director, Ms. Wendy Neiman, has been with the center since 1978.
Philosophy
Our primary goal at the Children’s Learning Center is to assist children to reach their
uppermost potential. We believe that this optimal development is best realized by
providing children both a structured academic program and a more “open”
atmosphere in the social domain.
Children attending the Center will typically partake in a systematic educational
program to enhance their development in the academic, perceptual, language,
cognitive and motor areas. Each child receives enrichment in all of these areas
through approaches emphasizing a development concept and individualized
instruction. This combination results in challenging tasks that facilitate growth. Since
instruction is at the child’s developmental level, our program provides successful
experiences that enhance the child’s self-confidence and self-esteem.
Staff
At the Center, we have both quality and experienced staff. Our staff members
average 14 years of experience at our Center, displaying a level of commitment that is
unparalleled. We select our staff members based upon their ability and enthusiasm for
working with young children, and educational and experiential backgrounds are also
weighted heavily in their selection. Moreover, professional development at the Center
encourages their sensitivity to the uniqueness of each child.
We are fortunate to have a Credentialed School Psychologist as part of our staff who
presents staff inservices on child development, curriculum, individualized instruction
and other topics directly relevant to the education of your child. When our
psychologist works with individual children, parents, or teachers, there is no additional
fee; his services are included in our standard tuition.
