Anita Bhasin, Co-Director
Ms. Anita graduated from the University of Kashmir in India with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received another BA in Education the following year. Working with children for over 30 years, she joined the CLC in 1987. In addition to her teaching duties, Ms. Anita is an Assistant Director helping enroll new students and various administrative tasks and is State Certified in CPR. Anita brings her education and decades of experience with her to help meet the needs of all our students and their families! We want all who enter our Center to feel a sense of belonging, therefore Anita offers an open door for parents to share their experiences and any concerns they may have along the way. Anita and the CLC staff will always strive to be the best, giving parents the peace of mind that comes from knowing their little ones are in good hands and will have happy, fun-filled days at the CLC.
Wendy Neiman, Co-Director
Wendy Neiman began her career volunteering as a preschool aide in the Fountain Valley School District. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Coastline Community College, and has served the Children’s Learning center since 1978. She began as the lead preschool teacher in 1979 and developed the pre-kindergarten academic program. In 1983 Wendy became Co-director.
Steve Neiman, Educational Coordinator
Steve graduated from California State University Northridge with a BA in Psychology and then attended California State University Los Angeles and received a Master of Science in Counseling including a credential in school psychology. Upon graduation he taught several graduate courses for the guidance-counseling department at California State University Los Angeles and lectured at several conferences on assertive discipline for children. In addition he devoted six years to the Fountain Valley and Placentia school districts where he served as a school psychologist.
After spending many years counseling individual children, groups of children, parents, and whole families, he decided a preschool was the ideal way to utilize his knowledge and experience. Steve began serving as the Director of the CLC in 1978 until 2007. Since 2007 he has served as the Educational Coordinator at the CLC.
Steve is currently available on a limited basis to discuss any concerns about your child’s developmental or educational needs.
Ms. Ileana joined the CLC staff in 2003 as a preschool teacher. Previously she had worked as a teacher’s aide for preschool and elementary children in her native country Ecuador. She received her Early Education Master Certificate from North Orange County Community College and is State Certified in CPR.
Ms. Marisa joined CLC in 1994 and has been working with preschool children for over 24 years. She received her Early Childhood Education Certificate and Childhood Supervision Certificate in 1991. With over 40 Early Childhood Education units from California State University Long Beach and Cerritos College, she is also a certified teacher by the State of California and is State Certified in CPR.
Ms. Amal joined the CLC staff in 2017 as a preschool teacher. She graduated from Orange County Community College in Anaheim in 2014 with an Early Childhood Education Certificate and completed an Early Childhood Educators Mini Conference in 2016. She is state certified in CPR and First Aid. Previously she worked as a High School Teacher for 18 years in Alexandria, Egypt and worked as a volunteer at the Archangel Michael Sunday School.
Ms. Lamya joined the CLC staff in 2017 as a preschool teacher. She graduated from Fullerton College in 2016 with an Early Childhood Education Certificate and completed over 30 units in General Education at Cypress College. She is state certified in CPR and First Aid. Previously she worked for an organization in Iraq as a teacher for children including some with special needs.
Ms. Jessika found her passion for teaching in 2006 as she volunteered as a preschool aide in the Los Angeles Unified School District. By 2007 she began working as a lead teacher for Childcare Careers which gave her the opportunity to work with many different schools and programs. In 2009 she received her Child Development Associate in Arts Degree and Early Childhood Education Certificate from East Los Angeles College. By 2011 she received her California Commission teacher credentials. She is State Certified in Pediatric First Aid and CPR. She says working with children for over 12 years has been a rewarding experience and is very enthusiastic for the new year and new adventures at the CLC.
Ms. Janett has been a preschool teacher for 12 years. She has worked with different age groups from infants to five year olds in different preschool settings. Ms. Janett decided to take some time off from teaching when her son was born. Three years later she decided to go back to teaching and joined the CLC in 2019 as a preschool teacher. She graduated from Cerritos College in 2009 with an Early Childhood Education Certificate. She is State Certified in CPR and First Aid.
Ms. Bernie joined the CLC staff in 2016 as a preschool teacher. She graduated from North Orange Community College in 2016 with an Early Childhood Education Certificate and received a Bachelor of Secondary Education with a major in English from Jesu College in the Philippines. She is state certified in CPR and First Aid.
Ms. Raven joined the CLC staff January 2017 as a preschool teacher. She will have her Associate of Arts degree from Cerritos College in Liberal Arts and will transfer to Cal State Long Beach in Fall 2019 to obtain her BA Degree in Liberal Arts and Social Behavior. She has completed 12 units of Child Development.
Transitional Kindergarten Teacher
Ms. Sruthi, our Transitional-Kindergarten teacher received Masters Degrees in Education, English, and Computer Science. She is currently completing her Early Childhood Education Certificate at North Orange County Community College. She taught both Elementary and High School for three years in India, and joined the CLC staff in April 2018. She loves sports, doing crafts, and is always on a quest to meet new people and learn about their cultures and languages.
